# Returning Kits

> How to pack, ship, and verify the contents of your returned Robocon kit

## The RoboCon Kit

We hope that the RoboCon kit was a valuable resource for your team! We ask that all kits are returned to us over the summer. This allows us to refurbish, update, and improve the equipment to keep the competition free for future students.

## Packing and Shipping

Shipping can be rough on hardware. To ensure the kit arrives safely, please adhere to the following standards:

### Preparation

* **Use the Original Box:** The kit must be returned inside the provided **12L Really Useful Box (RUB)**.
* **Internal Padding:** Fill all empty space inside the RUB with packing material (cardboard, bubble wrap, etc.) so components cannot shift during transit.
* **External Protection:** The RUB itself should be wrapped in a protective layer of cardboard.

<Warning>
  **Lithium Battery Shipping Warning** Most couriers have strict regulations regarding loose lithium batteries. In many cases, **loose LiPo batteries cannot be shipped via standard courier.** We recommend returning the kit to Hills Road in person to avoid shipping risks. Shipment of batteries is at your own risk.

### Logistics

* **Costs:** RoboCon Oxfordshire does not fund the return shipment of kits.
* **In-Person Returns:** If you plan to drop off the kit in person, please email [support@roboconoxon.org.uk](mailto:support@roboconoxon.org.uk?cc=peter.willis@abingdon.org.uk) to coordinate a time to meet at reception.

## Return Checklist

Please ensure all of the following items are accounted for before sealing your box.

### Electronic Kit

* 1x RoboCon Brain
* 1x Power switch (Latching: red switch, black connector)
* 1x Start Button (Momentary: black switch, green connector)
* 1x 6-pin GPIO connector
* 1x 2-pin 12V Accessory connector
* 2x 2-pin motor connectors

### Power & Charging

* 1x 3S (11.1V nominal) LiPo Battery
* 1x B3 PRO imaxRC Compact LiPo Charger
* 1x "LiPo Safe" bag

### Computer Equipment

* Linux/Windows laptop (Checked and updated)
* Power brick and lead

### Storage & Tools

* 1x 12L Really Useful Box & Lid
* 1x Screwdriver set
* 1x Components box

### Sensors & Components

* 1x IR sensor
* 1x RGB LED & 1x Standard LED
* 1x Contact switch
* 2x Male-to-Male connectors & 4x Male-to-Female connectors
* 1x Ultrasonic sensor
* 1x Pink micro servo (9g MG90S)

### Robot Parts

* 1x Robot perspex kit
* 1x Cardboard box with AprilTag
* 1x Retroflective tape sample
* 2x Motors with connectors
* 12x AprilTags
